What we need from you:

  • To ensure that BT does not take on too much risk and has suitable protection balanced against cost
  • To deliver best in class benefits to assist BT to attract and retain talent
  • To ensure that BT is able to recover in full when it suffers a loss
  • To assist BT to manage operational risk to help reduce claims
  • To assist our Business to understand contractual insurable risk

What you will be doing:

  • Accountable for delivering and shaping the Programmes under control to deliver the Team’s strategy and goals.
  • Identify what good looks like in terms of loss rates and assist BT to become best in class by identifying risk management strategies.
  • Close engagement with all business and corporate units to appreciate all material activities and future plans which could impact the Porgrammes.
  • Carry out a constant review of the market to ensure the programmes remain best in class.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, insurers and other service providers to assist delivery.
  • Regular engagement with HR to ensure benefits remain suitable and best in class.
  • Develop and lead team member to ensure that all claims are settled in a timely way and assist our Business to understand their settlements.
  • Manage budget and accruals in accordance with overall strategy.

Skills required for the role:

  • Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Techical skills around the classes, the market, and the changing risks
  • Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Industry (preferred) or Cert with progress towards.
