Applications are welcomed from both experienced academics and professionally qualified and industry experienced individuals, to contribute to the CII Accredited MSc Risk Management and Insurance as part of the academic team delivering the programme. This is a practice-led and applied Masters programme, focussing on skills and knowledge development in the field of general insurance and risk management, developing graduate talent into successful careers in this exciting and varied industry.

Whilst experience of teaching or training and development will be an advantage, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a desire to share their knowledge and industry experience in an academic context, inspiring students to explore the risk industry and general insurance opportunities.

About us: The department promotes practice led teaching and research.  In addition to our core Accounting and Finance provisions we are expanding our offering into exciting areas such as Insurance Risk Management, Financial Technology, and Forensic Accounting. 

Sustainability and ethics cut across our provision, with embedded themes of enterprise and internationalisation in all our programmes. Our research is directed firmly at impact on people and society and integral to our teaching delivery.

About you: The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree or higher qualification and/or professional/industry experience and a relevant professional qualification
  • The ability to inspire and engage students
  • The potential to deliver high-quality scholarly and practice-based teaching activities
  • An ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
  • An ability to work both independently and within a tight knit programme team

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.

Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
