TEAM

The Establishment team sits within the Crew Planning team as part of the Operations Planning & Delivery department. This role reports to the Crew Resource Planning Manager and supports the development and maintaining of the crew Establishment plan. The role is cross-functional, linking in with operations and commercial teams as required.

 

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Establishment Planning Officer is responsible for planning and managing the crew Establishment plan, to ensure optimum crew levels are available to the Crew Planning function, with the associated financial budgeting process for the safe, compliant and cost-efficient operation.
The role is responsible for the day to day people management, task setting and oversight of a Crew Establishment officer.

 

JOB ACCOUNTIBILITIES

Administer the long-term Establishment plan and provide regular updates to key stakeholders – Recruitment, Training, Flight Ops/Cabin Services, HR, Finance

Track and report actual FTE data vs. budget plan and highlight any deviations (shortage or crew surpluses) to enable an action plan to be developed with recruitment and training

Provide oversight of all key metrics to track crew performance – communicate information routinely to all stakeholders up to AMB level to provide confidence in the crew establishment levels

Track and report on all crew assumptions v plan – Maternity, Part Time, Long Term Sick, Social Leave, Crew Off Roster, Union activity, Management off roster and secondments, plus any other planning assumptions as needed

Manage Crew attrition, highlighting any risk and adjusting the plan as required

Update the recruitment and training plans as required in line with changes to the plan

Plan, execute and communicate any temporary basing requirements

Report unpaid leave and estimate cost savings versus the budget plan

Develop the crew leave plan and ensure it is accurately reflected in the establishment plan. Provide data support to the Crew Leave team as required.

Manage crew leave availability vs. crew leave demand

Agree templates and produce country data packs for various union and works council bodies reporting crew numbers and productivity data

Forecast network and base crew block hour availability monthly, to show block hour availability on a rolling plan; review the data and communicate any variance from plan

Report on the network and base block hour productivity monthly, to show actual crew productivity vs. the plan; review the data and communicate any variance from plan

Production and ownership of a five-year crew establishment plan, aligning with the wider business strategy

Involvement with and validation of proposed future schedules and input into the schedule strategy

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders particularly Recruitment, Flight Ops/Cabin Services, Training, HR and Finance

Produce a monthly crew establishment report for all stakeholders to predict the status of the plan on a rolling basis

Actively seek process improvements to ensure tools, processes and information flows are fit for purpose

Carry out your work in compliance with easyJet policies, processes and procedures

Ad hoc activities as required

 

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

Educated to degree level or business equivalent

Two years operational experience of working within a crew scheduling/planning or crew establishment department (or similar industry equivalent), supported by a good working knowledge of EASA FTL regulations and complex crew collective agreements [CLA]. Preference for experience of working within an EU planning environment

Proven capability in MS Office applications, particularly Excel

Proven experience of working in a numerical, analytical and problem-solving role

Practical database skills (e.g., MS SQL) with focus on data extraction and transformation into actionable insights.

Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly and concisely

Team worker with a flexible attitude and ability to respond to changing demands and timescales

Understanding of crew scheduling and crew establishment drivers and an overview of EASA FTL

Experience of financial budgeting and forecasting in a multi-faceted and changeable environment

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
