TEAM
The Rostering team sits within the Crew Planning team as part of the Operations Planning & Delivery function. Their key responsibility is to ensure rosters are Safe, Legal, and Cost effective and follow all published company regulations, guidelines, and industrial agreements. The team provide a consolidated and holistic view of operational planning to support improvements within the wider operation, working with all of the operational teams.
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Rostering Officer reports to the Crew Planning Rostering Manager within the Rostering team managing the rosters from publication to day 3 handover to our ICC crewing team, ensuring that every roster considers safety, cost, legal compliance, in accordance with industrial rules & all quality measures.
Coordinating the daily activity of the Rostering delivery Officers, the Senior Delivery Rostering Officer will ensure the correct use of supply chain tools and adherence to process, to deliver a robust and high-quality roster is handed over to ICC.
JOB ACCOUNIBILITIES
> Ensuring rosters are Safe, Legal, and Cost effective and follow all published company regulations, guidelines, and industrial agreements
> Maintaining crew rosters in the live environment from once published prior to handover to ICC
> Meeting internal handover times and dates
> Maintaining the internal roster delivery checklists, ensuring that the team complete the information in an accurate and timely manner
> Undertake scheduled quality control including audits of the team
> Undertake regular audits of manuals, processes, and procedures to ensure they are up to date, improving where possible
> Monitoring performance against Union agreements
> Deliver the required crew in relation to the agreed crewing SBY plan
> Review SBY levels in accordance with operational requirements, deliver data and attend meetings as necessary which managers and senior leadership team
> Liaise with Rostering Planning seniors to feedback any roster issues, improvements are identified
> Liaise with SCO, ensuring product handed over meets requirements and is operationally viable
> Plan and deliver any necessary training associated with new agreements / projects.
> Responsible for disruption and strike actions in the rostering delivery window, to attend DPM meetings and provide any data requirements for that meeting
> Responsible for tactical Unpaid leave development and processes
> Overview of all network tripping including liaison with hotel and transport teams
> Coordinate the daily activity of the Rostering officers, re prioritising if required
> Manage team on day-to-day basis, delivering developmental feedback as necessary
> Responsible for the completion of performance management within the Roster Delivery team including completion of team member welfare and quarterly reviews
> Flexibility to support operational requirements
> Support the Rostering Planning Seniors during peak roster periods and absence
> Provide data for management and leadership team regarding availability and outlook for delivery
> Any adhoc work or projects required to support the Rostering Manager or lead senior
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
> Educated to degree level or business equivalent
> Minimum of two years operational experience of working within a crew scheduling/planning or crew establishment department (or similar industry equivalent), supported by a good working knowledge of EASA FTL regulations and complex crew collective agreements [CLA]. Preference for experience of working within an EU planning environment
> Proven capability in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
> Proven experience of working in a numerical, analytical, and problem-solving role
> Practical database skills (e.g., MS SQL) with focus on data extraction and transformation into actionable insights.
> Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
> Team worker with a flexible attitude and ability to respond to changing demands and timescales
> Understanding of crew scheduling and crew establishment drivers and an overview of EASA FTL
> Experience of financial budgeting and forecasting in a multi-faceted and changeable environment
> Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Crew Optimisation Officer and delegate testing and development work to them in line with their knowledge and capabilities while supporting their development.

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role will and will be 40 hours per week, hybrid working.
