JOB PURPOSE
The Rostering Officer will work within the Crew Optimisation, Roster Planning and Delivery teams producing and managing crew rosters from initial construction through to the handover to the ICC Crewing team. This role will ensure that all crew rosters are published on time considering safety, cost, legal compliance, in accordance with industrial rules & all quality measures.
JOB ACCOUNIBILITIES
- Delivery and maintenance of crew roster activities in accordance with legal, company and Industrial agreements, correcting anomalies before and after roster optimisation. Consideration given to the following (list not exhaustive):
- Fatigue metrics / best practice
- Early / Late Distribution
- Extra Long Duty distribution
- Work blocks / distribution of consecutive 4, 5 , 6 sector duty days
- Stand-by duty numbers/distribution
- EU /non-EU flight duties
- Sector distribution.
- Block hour distribution
- Cost per block hour through the addition of minimal ‘Out of base’ duties against the handover from the pairings builds.
- Combining ground travel duties to reduce impact on the cost of the roster in respect of transportation cost.
- Partial activity and furlough schemes are met in accordance with country specific agreements
- Produce and maintain monthly crew roster using Optimisation software for easyJet Pilots and Cabin crew in accordance with the agreed publication dates.
- Maintaining crew rosters in the live environment once published prior to handover to ICC
- Running regular AIMS violation reports and amending rosters where necessary to clear the illegality/violation ahead of publication to crew.
- Running the daily availability software to ascertain the requirements and make changes accordingly
- Continuously improve process and roster quality.
- Re-crewing uncovered flight in line with regulatory requirements, union agreements and easyJet business rules.
- Managing and maintaining standby coverage in accordance with the targets and guidelines set.
- Managing roster change requests with sensitivity and discretion while representing Operational needs, ensuring the impact of each change is understood and accepted by the relevant accountable parties
- Challenging disruptive and avoidable changes, where appropriate, in a positive and constructive manner
- Retain a sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and successfully passing a yearly Flight Time Limitation Qualification
- Responding to crew & base management concerns relating to roster construction issues and queries and where possible feeding this insight into the process to improve future roster quality.
- Supporting the Hotel and Travel Planning and delivery teams when required, such as booking positioning flights.
- Any adhoc work or projects required to support the Senior Rostering Officers or Crew Planning management team
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- A minimum of 18 months experience in either a planning environment or operational delivery environment.
- A team player that is not shy of challenging in a positive constructive manner with a view to improving the quality of the Roster Product
- A questioning mind that is able to interpret a crew roster with respect to quality and potential improvements.
- Strong customer focus and a demonstrable keenness to deliver the very best customer service.
- Self-reliant and able to take initiative but able to identify when to refer to others
- Ability to cope concurrently with a high number of widely differing requests, which are continually subject to changing priorities.
- A detailed understanding of the AIMS Crew Tracking system and associated reporting tools gained through use in an operational environment
- Computer literate with a good Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel tools.
- Ability to read, review and understand easyJet crew/Rostering/union Protocols
- Ability to understand schedule design and identify impact on crew rosters.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in every task
- Knowledge of easyJet approved FTL scheme, Fatigue Risk Management or any other national crew compliance regulations.
- Operational Airline / Transport experience preferred.

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role is based in LTN and will be 40 hours per week, reporting to Crew Planning Rostering manager.
