The Role Summary:

This Role is a key part of the Capacity planning Controls team and is a key interface between Group Risk, System Operator Planning, Delivery, Capacity Planning Business Planning and the Capacity Planning Senior Leadership team.

To provide leadership to the Capacity Planning business in all aspects of risk management and compliance with corporate risk processes. Ensuring best practice is in place, whilst identifying areas for improvement and providing specialist advice, guidance and training to all levels, in order to identify emerging business risks at an early stage.

To lead and manage the risk framework and compliance for the Capacity Planning function in line with Group Risk and System Operator requirements.  Lead the development and management of Business Continuity Management for Capacity Planning including supporting the development and delivery of necessary Crisis Management Plan

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience of managing risk and implementing governance processes
  •  Membership of the Institute of Risk Management or Association for Project Management Risk Practitioner, or relevant experience to demonstrate level of competence
  •  Proven experience in building risk models in a number of applications, which accurately represent the complexities of cost, schedule and business risk.
  •  Demonstrates strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
  •  Ability to establish professional credibility quickly
  •  Change agent experience
  •  Passionate about customer service with the ability to deliver successfully against customer requirements
  •   Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively at all levels in the organisation
  •  Proven track record of operating in a large complex environment

Desirable requirements:

  • Proven understanding of the context of Capacity Planning and the timetable in the railway processes
