HS2’s station construction partner, Balfour Beatty VINCI Systra joint venture (BBVS) are leading the construction of HS2’s new Old Oak Common Station. Set to be the best connected and largest new railway stations ever built in the UK, Old Oak Common will become one of the country’s most vital transport super hubs. The station will have 14 platforms, a mix of six high speed and eight conventional service platforms, with an 850m-long station box. It is expected to be one of the busiest railway stations in the country with high speed rail services to the midlands, Scotland and the North and access to central London and Heathrow via the Crossrail Elizabeth Line. Role purpose
To deliver Quantified cost and Time risk analysis, support in the training and guidance of trainee and apprentice risk analysts, support the senior risk manager in management and delivery of risk for the BBVSJV including management and updated of the Risk management plan, procedures and continuous improvement activities.
Accountabilities
- Support the maintaining of a robust risk management structure and procedures to deliver the required level of control and management of risk within the project.
- Promote the Risk strategy within the project and with relevant Supply chain interfaces.
- Carry out Qualitative Risk analysis for the project, work packages, departments or functions.
- Support Risk Owners in assessing and managing their risks.
- Carrying out QCRA activities at agreed intervals to support the development of cost forecast.
- Carrying out QSRA activities at agreed intervals to support the development of prolongation analysis, risk adjusted schedules and schedule recovery/development plans.
- Create periodic risk reports that are suitably structured and are of sufficient quality to support the transfer of risk information and the requirements for decision making at both WBS and Organisational levels.
- Engage with Subject Matter experts and Supply chains for the analysis and guidance of risk mitigation.
- To work closely with supporting functions around assurance, quality and lessons learned to assure project wide risks are clearly understood with mitigations managed at a senior level. Assure cross pollination of information around risk and performance.
- Facilitate or support on Risk Root cause and Assumption analysis for the WBS and project including supply chain and HS2,
- Review key Engineering/Design concerns with SME’ to assess areas of concern or opportunities to improve value and support stage change and change control activities,
- Dependencies reviews as part of the root cause analysis structure and in support of developing mitigating actions, change control activities and schedule uncertainty development, and
- To mentor trainees and apprentices as required.
