TEAM
This role is part of the Flight Operations Technical team, reporting to the Flight Operations Engineer. The Junior Flight Operations Engineer will become an important member of the team working closely with the Flight Operations Technical Team.
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible to the Flight Operations Engineer, taking individual responsibility for daily analysis of NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) and AIP Supplements that impact operations to ensure a safe, legal and cost effective operation.
The individual will provide a high level of technical support to various internal departments and liaise with aeroplane manufacturers, airports, regulatory authorities and ANSPs on aeroplane performance matters.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Daily analysis of NOTAMs and AIP Supplement information impacting aircraft performance and ensuring operational systems are aligned.
- Auditing of aerodrome and obstacle databases within our various operational systems to support the flying programme and deliver a safe and optimised flying operation.
- Rapidly mitigate operational risks identified through the easyJet SMS.
- Ensuring operational systems are aligned.
- Aircraft Performance analysis for Aerodrome evaluation and categorisation to support the commercial planning process and ensure safe and compliant flying operations.
- Develop and maintain competency in additional flight technical areas, to support the small specialised team.
- Support for the established specialists in the flight ops technical department for business critical cross functional projects.
Safety
- Ensuring accuracy of data contained the airport obstacle database.
- Ensure for a strong safety culture by timely and accurate reporting and investigating of incidents (ASRs).
- Ensure compliance with company policy/procedures in accordance with the EasyJet Operations Manuals and company systems.
Operational excellence
- Will liaise regularly with the Flight Operations Engineer in order to discuss results/feedback and development of systems and processes.
People
- Working closely with the existing team of Technical Specialists within Flight Operations to ensure that easyJet delivers the highest possible service levels for its passengers.
Requirements of the Role
KEY SKILLS /REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Qualified to degree level in an aviation related subject, ideally aeronautical engineering.
- Well organised and have an excellent eye for detail when working under pressure.
- You will have experience working with large amounts of technical data, ideally in the aviation industry.
- Succinct verbal and written communication of technical matters.
- Ability to work in a small specialised team with a strong focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Proactive and resilient with the ability to manage workload to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Computer literate with Windows and Microsoft Office and excel.
Desirable
- Flight Operations experience including Aircraft Performance, Weight and Balance and Navigation is an advantage.
- Experience of Microsoft Excel VBA and SQL is a distinct advantage.

This role is full time, based in Luton.
