Role & Accountabilities

To provide support to the BBV HS2 Joint Venture, by carrying out day to day insurance related activities in a timely and efficient manner including but not exclusive to:

  • Determine Project strategy for insurance, balancing BBV and Client needs
  • Manage project critical insurance issues and claims with JV internal & external stakeholders, including Partners policies, JV policies and Client policy (OCIP) from issuance to financial settlement and provide recommendation in respect of any insurance coverage specifically needed and not included in the OCIP or BBJV insurance program
  • Provide guidance and/or information for claims defence or to justify claims (Leading or assisting other BBV teams as appropriate).
  • Arrange annual insurance renewals in conjunction with brokers and BB/Vinci Insurance Managers (including requesting and collection of data from wider BBV teams). Provide recommendations to BBV Exec team for sign off.
  • Lead Risk Management Surveys in conjunction with brokers and insurers.
  • With the support of Finance team, Lead forecast for insurance related expenditure and management budget.
  • Assist Finance team in coding insurance related expenditure.
  • Assist Legal and Commercial in any insurance queries arising from contractual terms.
  • Assist the Finance & Systems Director in Business Risk Management

Experience

  • Experience in handling complex insurance claims.
  • Has experience of appropriate legislation and best practice related to insurance and risk processes.
  • Experience in arranging and negotiating insurance policies / renewals.
  • Has knowledge of the construction industry and the unique insurance arrangements in the construction industry.
  • Pays attention to detail and will see tasks through to completion.
  • Is a team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills, able to interface with multiple stakeholders. Is a self-starter who can manage their own time and proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value to their function.
