About the job

We offer an opportunity you simply won’t find anywhere else. Only launched in 2019, Mileway has grown into Europe's leader in last mile logistics real estate, with a 400-plus team across more than twenty offices in eleven countries.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate with the right combination of academic aptitude, quantitative and communication skills. You’ll develop a wide range of insurance skills and experience working alongside the Head of Insurance and as part of a large team of external industry experts.

We are looking for an Insurance Analyst to join our London-based team. Day to day, you’ll work closely with customer teams and the broker to establish and run insurance processes across the largest last mile logistics portfolio in Europe.

If you’re driven, great with data and ready to take the next step in your insurance career then please drop us a line.

Working at Mileway

Mileway set out to be a different kind of real estate company from the beginning, like our cloud-based IT infrastructure and our team’s ability to flex across borders, combining the best of local knowledge with the pooled expertise of a pan-European business.

While we have already achieved a lot – our international, “can do” team, is only just getting started – we want to reshape our industry for the better. Our mission is to be the most customer and environment focused last mile real estate company in Europe, creating space for businesses to grow sustainably. To get there, we live our values: Drive, Trust, Grow, Together.

At Mileway, we believe company growth comes from supporting the growth of our combined capabilities. This is why we have our own inhouse learning & development programme, where personal, professional and business development go hand in hand - helping you carve out your own bespoke career path. We know that the way people work has changed over the last few years. So while your base will be the Amsterdam/London office, we will give you flexibility to work some of the week from home. We’ll also equip you with a state-of-the-art technology package that helps you keep in touch, wherever you are. That doesn’t mean we need you 24/7. We expect you’ll work hard and also that you’ll need some downtime. Respect for your personal life is key to keeping our team happy and our batteries charged.

What you’ll do

  • Understand and improve the quality of insurance data held on over 2,000 real estate assets and several thousand customers.
  • Handle reporting, insurance data changes and data questions from internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate between teams to set up and run processes to improve handling of real estate insurance data.
  • Facilitate on-board and off-boarding of assets from an insurance perspective with Mileway and third-party teams.
  • Help the finance and property management teams to re-charge premiums promptly and resolve any associated data issues.
  • Support third party reinstatement valuers and manage the output from this programme.
  • Prepare communications and training materials that will help insurers better understand Mileway and internal colleagues to reduce the overall cost of risk.
  • As you learn more about the business and insurance program, handle day to day customer questions and requests.

What you’ll bring

  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • A relevant employment background, preferably with at least two years’ experience working in the insurance or commercial real estate sector.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills in a small team.
  • Strong professional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A hands-on approach and drive to get things done.
  • A sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results.
  • An understanding of good information management principles.
  • Your passion for teamwork, organizational skills, and a desire to learn on the job.
  • Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Your great team energy. You’re a hands-on self-starter who works confidently and independently, and you also collaborate well with others
  • Other European languages a plus
