Wood is currently recruiting an Insurance Advisor for a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The purpose of the role is to support the placement and management of an adequate, appropriate and economic global insurance programme and in practical and contractual risk management and/or other risk transfer techniques to protect assets and earnings against loss. The role holder is responsible for day to day insurance advisory activity.
This role can be based in any of our UK offices, hybrid working is available.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributing to delivery of Group insurance programme within insurance and departmental budget
- Support the placement, renewal and all aspects of all non-casualty (e.g. Property & Business Interruption / CAR / Marine / Motor / Crime / D&O / Cyber) classes of insurance globally including presentations to brokers, insurers, Wood’s captive insurers, negotiation of terms, placement, and ensuring contract certainty and overseeing and approving the placement of all other insurances including country / project / company / JV specific policies.
- To be a focal point for the provision of day-to-day insurance and risk management advice and governance to Wood’s business units globally.
- Develop and maintain close, professional working relationships with Wood’s global insurance broker and its affiliates/network providers, in order to successfully provide direction and control.
- To arrange the placement of insurance policies including annual insurances and country / project / company / JV specific insurances.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Wood’s insurable risk appetite and retention philosophies in order to provide consistent guidance to help achieve business objectives.
- Provide expertise across the full range of insurance products encompassing, property, liability, financial lines and employee benefit insurances.
- Knowledge of regulatory and cross-border compliance issues in order to preserve maintenance of a compliant multi-national insurance programme
- Work closely with insurance brokers and other external providers to ensure timely Issuance of insurance documentation / certification in compliance with customer’s contractual requirements and responses to referred queries and requests for insurance quotations.
- Specific responsibility for data collection, disclosure and renewal of certain insurance policies as directed by Insurance Manager.
- Input and involvement with global master insurance programme and main annual insurance renewal process as required by SVP Insurance and Insurance Manager
Skills/Qualifications
- Educated to degree level
- Progressing towards CII qualification or equivalent (desirable)
Job specific experience:
- Previous experience with a Broker, Insurer or in a Risk Management role with a company (desirable)
- Multi-national insurance programmes
Knowledge of:
- Broad insurance expertise
