Overview / Responsibilities

 Key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Contribute to the delivery of group insurance programme within insurance and departmental budget 
  • Act as focal point for the provision of day-to-day insurance, risk management advice and governance to Wood's business units in the Western Hemisphere and globally as required
  • Arrange the placement of western hemisphere-specific insurance policies (e.g. US Worker’s Compensation, US & Canadian Auto, US Builder’s Risks & Contractor’s Equipment) including annual insurances and country / project / company / JV specific insurances
  • Support the placement, renewal and all aspects of all global casualty (e.g. General/Third Party Liability, Professional Indemnity/Liability, Employer’s Liability, Pollution Liability) classes of insurance including presentations to brokers, insurers, Wood’s captive insurers, negotiation of terms, placement, and ensuring contract certainty
  • Work closely with insurance brokers and other external providers to ensure timely Issuance of insurance documentation / certification in compliance with customer’s contractual requirements and responses to referred queries and requests for insurance quotations
  • Specific responsibility for data collection, disclosure and renewal of certain insurance policies as directed by Insurance Manager
  • Input to global master insurance programme and main annual insurance renewal process as required by Group Head of Insurance and Insurance Manager

Skills / Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level 
  • Progressing toward CII qualification or equivalent 

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Broad insurance expertise 
  • Experience gained with a Broker, Insurer or Risk Management role within a company
  • Knowledge of multi-national insurance programmes

  • Organised and able to work on own initiative 
  • Confidence to deliver advice, training and challenge to the business
  • The ability to contribute and deliver as part of a small, highly professional team
