Principal accountabilities

 

  • Liaise internally with various functions and businesses to obtain and collate exposure metrics and values
  • Review, consolidate and analyze all exposure metrics and values.
  • Communicate with brokers to ensure their systems are up to date and liaise with brokers for the renewal of insurance programmes.
  • Reconcile and consolidate all insurance costs.
  • Check and process insurance payments.
  • Prepare and run the premium recharging model to business units for all insurance programmes in collaboration with insurers.
  • Ensure the efficient cash management of premium flows, the collection of funds, the processing and reconciliation of invoices.
  • Liaise with JM’s captive to ensure accurate premium collection and claim reserving and payments.
  • Organize and maintain the recording of past and present risk exposure data, premium invoicing, and allocation to each business unit.
  • Use and maintain up to date the JM risk management information system.
  • Maintain and update the insurance data and documentation.
  • Create and generate reports as required.
  • Review and maintain departmental database and documentation.
  • Review and maintain myJM Insurance pages.
  • Produce accurate statistical information and other reports as required.
  • Accurately record all policy and claims information, and other insurance related information, on the insurance database and associated files.
  • Facilitate regular site surveys by insurers. Follow up and monitor completion of insurers’ recommendations. Record and report on completion.
  • Ensure appropriate recording of claims, including the allocation of claims to each business.
  • Provide advice and assistance to business units and to other functions on basic insurance related issues.
  • Maintain communication with business units to ensure prompt reporting of insured risks and exposures to insurers and the immediate notification of claims to insurers.
  • Provide insurance certificates as required and maintain database of insurance certificates issued annually.
  • Provide data support with acquisition and divestiture activities.
  • Collaborate with members of other corporate teams including Finance, Legal, Environment Health & Safety, and Human Resources.
