To help deliver its forward focused strategy, the company is now looking for an experienced, proactive and intellectually curious Insurance and Risk leader to actively drive the risk management strategy within UK&I. The successful candidate will manage the portfolio of insurance policies in order to provide the appropriate level of protection and will be responsible for identifying and investigating trends where the business can improve its performance such as Fleet claims and Waste Fires.

Within Veolia Group, Risk Management means understanding, anticipating, coordinating, and dealing with factors liable to affect Veolia's ability to meet its targets. The long-term relations Veolia has built with its clients are rooted in an ability to manage the risks involved in the activities it carries out on behalf of relevant authorities and the company has introduced a cohesive system of risk management and prevention, which is crucial to its development.
This position is a key member of the Risk & Assurance Leadership team, accountable for reporting to senior stakeholders on claim figures, benchmarks, trends, costs and impact to the business, as well as ensuring the right level of cover and appropriate insurance and risk management for the diverse site operations is in place. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk & Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will be required to develop and propose solutions to trends and issues highlighted through data analysis as well as supporting the implementation of the Active Risk Strategy and translating and prioritising the impact of this in relation to the wider business.
The successful candidate will have Insurance experience (including large scale fleet management) and a broad risk management background from a range of environments (ideally including industrial sectors. Of equal importance, they will be someone with; the ability to lead and manage teams; an inherent curiosity to continually challenge current practice and search for new solutions; the vision to be able to identify the strategic implications of actions and their consequences; and the drive and communication skills to be able to engage with key stakeholders (both inside and external to the organisation) to influence changes in behaviours.
