Data Analyst – Group Insurable Risk

As a Group Insurable Risk Data Analyst, you will be ensuring accurate records are maintained in the risk management information system that holds claims, insurance policies, premiums, and exposure information about the company for risk financing purposes. A key part of this role is analysing the data, which includes comparing, contrasting and combining to interrogate variances. The role also includes training and supporting end users of the system. In addition, you will provide support to the risk financing team who are responsible for the placement of the group insurance policies.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to secure a global view of BAE Systems with an opportunity to build a global network and progress within the Group Insurable Risk team or the wider BAE Systems business.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Group Insurable Risk Analyst will involve: 

Supporting in the maintenance of the risk management information system including access permissions for users, updating exchange rates, report distribution, premium allocations, insurance policy management, claims management etc.

Supporting in the data collection process with the global businesses, including review of data for variances. You will be required to compare, contrast and combining data sets to interrogate variances.

Playing a key role in training users (globally) of the risk management information system and assists in workshops/meetings with stakeholders at all levels. You will be required to demonstrate clear understanding of the risk management information system.

Management reporting – assisting in the collation of user requirements for reporting and developing specifications for new reporting capability.  Being able to provide this this in an appropriate language for end user acceptance.

Supporting the risk financing team with the processes and governance for the renewal of the group insurance policies. Including updating and validating insurance policy information within the risk management information system.

 

Your skills and qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English (minimum A or 7)
  • Basic understanding of databases and how they work
  • Good skills in Microsoft excel with ability to manipulate data with pivot tables and vlookups
  • Good skills in Microsoft Powerpoint and adhering company branding
  • Well developed analytical skills e.g. comparing, contrasting and combining different sets of data
  • Ability to support decision making based on research and analysis
