Airmic Excellence Awards 2022

Purpose

To celebrate the outstanding achievements of Airmic members and to honour significant contributions to the risk and insurance profession.

Categories

Rising star

This award will recognise an Airmic member with less than four years’ experience in the profession. This will be a member who has shown exceptional initiative and appetite for innovation, and who has demonstrated leadership potential at an early stage in their career.

Outstanding leadership

This award will recognise an Airmic member who is a leader in the profession and who has achieved professional excellence in helping to steer their organisation through the recent period of turbulence and volatility. This will be a member who can demonstrate leadership within their organisation and the profession more generally.

Making a difference in Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)

This award will recognise an Airmic member who has a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) within their organisation and the external community within which they operate. This will be a member at any stage of their career who can provide examples of taking responsibility for instilling a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

Insurance innovation

This award will recognise an Airmic member who has delivered a solution which has broken the traditional insurance mould. This will be a member at any stage of their career who can provide examples of adding value to their organisation and the profession more generally.

Risk Management innovation

This award will recognise an Airmic member who has stimulated change in the risk management system and the management of risk in their organisation. This will be a member at any stage of their career who can provide examples of how specifically they have furthered the practice of managing emerging risks.

How to enter

Who can enter the awards?

  • The awards are open to all Airmic members
  • Members may nominate themselves
  • Members may nominate another member – providing the member being nominated has given their permission

How much does it cost to enter?

There is no charge.

Categories

Members can be nominated for one or more award category. Each entry requires a separately completed nomination form.

How to submit an award nomination

  • With each completed form, the following should be included:
  • A statement of no more than 1,000 words saying why the nominee should win the award.
  • Testimonials of no more than 100 words each from those within or outside the organisation of the member in question supporting the nomination.
  • All documents must be provided in Word using Calibri font 11 with 1.15 space and saved in PDF format.
  • The deadline for nominations is 31 October 2022.

Members of the Airmic Executive will act as the Awards Panel.

Award winners shortlist and winner announcements

  • Airmic will announce the shortlisted nominations on 7 November 2022 and details will be posted on the Airmic website.
  • The Airmic Chair will announce the award winners at the Airmic Annual Dinner on 6 December 2022, to which all those shortlisted will be invited to attend as guests of Airmic.

  • Members are encouraged to nominate themselves, Airmic peers and colleagues who are Airmic members.
  • The deadline for nominations is 31 October 2022.
  • Award winners will be chosen using an objective process.
  • Members shortlisted for an award will be announced in the October edition of Airmic News.
  • Award winners will be announced at the Annual Airmic Dinner on 6 December 2022.
  • Award Winners will feature in the January 2023 edition of Airmic News.
