Her compounding error was that she had not got her facts straight when talking to the media – it turned out that Coutts didn’t drop Farage solely because he had fallen below the qualifying criteria to be a client. Its reputational risk committee had also deemed him to be too risky, because his views “were at odds with our position as an inclusive organisation”.
