John Hurrell to become the new AIRMIC chief executive

His appointment brings to an end a rigorous search to find a successor to David Gamble, who stepped down during the summer after nearly ten years in the role, in order to lead PRORIM, AIRMIC’s e-learning course.
“We said at the time that we would go on searching until we had found someone of the highest calibre, and only then would we make an appointment. I’m delighted to say that in John we have achieved just that,” said AIRMIC chairman Colin Campbell.
“As well as having extensive market experience, John has the leadership, communication and strategic skills that the position demands.”

John Hurrell has held senior leadership roles at Marsh (and previously Sedgwick) in both the Risk Consulting and Insurance Broking operations. Before joining Sedgwick in 1978, he was with Royal Insurance Co. based in
