Risk Publishing Online launches business contintuity course

Risk Publishing Online (RPO), the risk management e-learning publisher launched last year by former AIRMIC Executive Director David Gamble, has moved into Business Continuity Management (BCM) training.

The interactive course comes in response to requests from companies that wanted their staff in all locations to understand why business continuity planning is important and how to implement it.

The course has 18 interactive exercises that engage the reader by making them think through the issues whilst providing examples of good practice. Some of these come in blank form so that the key issues for each company can be explored with regard to risk assessment and the controls needed to ensure a favourable outcome.

The eleven simple steps in the development of a Crisis Management plan are set out with appropriate templates which could be used at each step. This allows such a plan to be easily followed, quickly populated and then regularly kept up to date.

“Business continuity advisers told us there was a need also for a straightforward course which took people through the need for BCM and provided them with a set of tools they could use in their own organisations,” said RPO chief executive David Gamble. “These tools have been developed by practitioners who use them all the time in their work, and they have more practical value than anything you will find in a textbook.”

The BCM course runs alongside RPO’s initial course, PRORIM (Professional Risk Management), which has already been sold to people in 14 different countries.
