Airmic PowerSearch means what exactly?

The search facility on the Airmic site does quite a bit more than your every day run of the mill website search.  Sure it returns results from www.airmic.com as you might expect, but it also does something else, something quite special.

When you search for something on the Airmic website our 'PowerSearch' will also return results from a carefully selected group of websites that we think you'll find interesting.  Currently we return relevant results from our Partner's websites, but in future we plan to plan to send our search 'spider' out to other websites relevant to the risk and insurance profession.

How do I search?
Using Airmic PowerSearch is simplicity itself - just type your keywords or phrases in the search box that appears on the top right of every page on the Airmic website, hit the search button, and when the results pop up you'll be able to tell which are external resources because they have a small company logo beside them.  Click on the link and you'll be taken direct to source, or 'straight to the horses' mouth' if you will.

But how can I refine my results?
To refine the search results you can use the filter options on the right hand side of the search results page.  For example, if you only want results from the Airmic website take the tick out of the 'External' checkbox in the 'filter by resource' filter box.  You can take the filtering even further by ticking or un-ticking other filter box options.  We have deliberately given you lots of choices for filtering results to help you get the best from Airmic PowerSearch.

Really advanced searching.
Whilst we do everything we can to tweak and perfect Airmic PowerSearch you might be interested in running advanced searches yourself, which of course is no problem at all - all the advanced search 'operators' that work elsewhere on the web also work on Airmic PowerSearch.  Google call this process 'crafting your query', and there's a pretty good explanation of how to go about doing such a thing here  - http://www.googleguide.com/crafting_queries.html
