Airmic Conference 2012 – What is it all about?
The Airmic Conference is a ‘must attend’ event for anyone who works within the Insurance and Risk Management industry. Especially for our members, as it’s completely free of charge for them to attend. The line up we have over this three day conference is excellent: Michael Portillo, Richard Lambert, Stephen Carver and now, Anthony Hilton who is confirmed to chair our Forum session. We have even managed to squeeze in another workshop, (making that a total of 25 to choose from!) based on Risk Management and hosted by our very own chairman Paul Taylor. Within the first two days of registration, 80 members have already signed up to attend! That really is amazing. We expect to see in attendance 800 delegates which shall include 350 Airmic members.
Our exhibition hall grows each year too. With 70 stands being sold representing the largest and most influential insurers, loss adjusters, brokers and service providers.
The conference is not all work, there is a huge element of networking that goes on every year over a few glasses of wine at a drinks reception, be this our own or at a Partner event. Last year we introduced a 5k charity fun run along the beach front in Bournemouth where 60 runners took part in early morning fun. I know the River Mersey is not quite the same, but nevertheless, it’s a great healthy start to the conference.
The Airmic Conference is an experience you must try. Every year is different. It is fun, inspiring and unique. Let’s lead together in risk and influence future thinking within our industry.
